Company History
Optware is a German based company (Optiware EDV GmbH), founded in 1984 by Helmut Ebersmann as a software consultancy (engineering office). In 1991 Optiware EDV relocated to Erlangen (near Nuremberg). Optiware^® has been a registered trademark since 2002.

Product History
In the past 18 years logistics and industrial applications have evolved to become the main speciality in Optiware's portfolio.

In 1993 OptiPAK^® was developed in conjunction with the Deutsche Post AG. Today OptiPAK supports nearly all leading parcel services and has been firmly established in the marketing of shipping solutions.

OptiKEP^® is a software program for managing in-house delivery of incoming packets and registered mail and has been available since 2000; this has become our greatest success story to date.

Ident and label printing systems are another important field for Optiware EDV; this includes barcode and RFID techniques, mobile data entry and label printing.

In 2010 the software programs OptiCAS^® and OptiDOK^® were developed to complete the product portfolio.

Because we are a small company we can offer our customers a speedy response with a high level of flexibility and quality engineering competence.
